For Dave Coleman, Lynn Bateman, and Flynn Coleman

These are two songs which I started writing during Summer 2016 - which was quite a strange time for me, and some people close to me. This version of 'Ready or Not' was actually recorded entirely by me, featurng some vocals from Lynn Bateman, in my bedroom in Gloucestershire. It was supposed to be a demo to illustrate the track to my band. Likewise, with 'Mother', myself and Caitlin Stubbs (who duets with me on the track) decided to get a take down - not necessarily with a view to releasing it. But - in both of these cases, I’ve realised that these particular versions of these two songs have something about them that I can’t re-make, probably because of the situation and the headspace that I made them in. I’ll continue to explore and experiment with these songs, and will release other versions of them later in the year. But for now - I want to get these tracks out there, because I think they have something about them that I really believe no amount of experimenting or persistence will recapture.
