Open Arms

I’ve been so lost inside,
Just not open wide.
A bit confused, trying to figure out the truth,
And I can’t decide.
Now which path to take,
To pretend or fake,
To scream so loud with my head above the clouds,
Or keep low and not complain.
But I, oh I,
I look to you, will you reassure me?
And I, Oh I,
I’ll run to you, with Open Arms.
They say there’s a light in the,
Tunnel once again.
But don’t rise to fall,
It’s just an oncoming train.
But I will be so free,
Of this tormenting me.
This ticking clock will let me pick myself up,
And shed uncertainty.
But I, oh I,
I look to you, will you reassure me?
And I, Oh I,
I’ll run to you, with Open Arms.
I look into the stream,
Alone with my fears.
I see the darkness in me,
Why do I,
Always magnify the bad instead of appreciating what I have?
“You’re not alone” says a voice from behind me,
Or from within my heart.
“You’re not alone”.
There’s nothing more that you could say or do,
That could console me,
Or give me a better view,
Or this dusty haze.
But I’m sure that my heart is ablaze,
I’m just waiting to find the space within my mind,
Ignited once again.
But I, oh I,
I look to you, will you reassure me?
And I, Oh I,
I’ll run to you, with Open Arms.
I’ll run to you with Open Arms.

Subtly Devoured

As he slammed the door
And walked out into the street
She looked out the window
And tried to speak
She gave him a look as if to say
I just can't love you no more
The melancholy music
Rings through their minds
They ignored the truth
But now the lie must die
They drift like ghosts through the house
And they know
Now the tears are streaming down a face
Like a flood destroying any truth that had stayed
As he tried to hold her he looks to the sun:
"Please bring it back to me"
Goodbye lovers
You ignored where your heart was
You forgot the truth and got swallowed in the sea
Whilst we've been waiting
Life's been anticipating
What's going to happen to you, what's going to happen to me
Just look at their souls - 'cause they've been subtly devoured
He sat in his chair
Day and night
Since she had gone
His days had become nights
And he'd just been thinking
About nothing at all
Now he had no friends
No family
He was the last in a line
So lonely
He'd become just a shell
With no future at all
Now he climbs up the stairs into a screaming abyss
Turns out the light and to himself he says this:
"Oh why did she have to go? 'Cause I wish I was dead
Please bring her back to me"
So goodbye loners
You forgot where your soul was
Became lost in misery, dreams were shattered - now you just can't get out
Whilst we've been waiting
Life's been anticipating
What's going to happen to you, what's going to happen to me
Just look at their souls - 'cause they've been subtly devoured
Well she knew the risks
But she couldn't resist
Her attraction to drugs
So all she did was persist
She spent her life out of her mind
Or lost on the streets
The girl that once was
Became so lost too
Inside herself
Now all that showed was a fool
Her family barely knew her
He soul had been drowned
Now she sits by the fire, the tears drip from her face
Somehow she knows she's just so out of place
Her soul died years ago, but not the shell's gone too
Please bring her back to us
So goodbye wasters
You forgot where your life was
Now all that's left is a hollowed out image of you
Whilst we've been waiting
Life's been anticipating
What's going to happen to you, what's going to happen to me
Just look at their souls - 'cause they've been subtly devoured
Just look at their souls - 'cause they've been subtly devoured

The One

Who knows how this song could turn out?
It's not easy to say
Screaming out a million words
They don't mean much to me
I've been living in a life on my own
Where every angle's on me
In a boat on some tempestuous sea
It's hard to see it from another point of view
But it don't matter now
It don't matter now
No it don't matter now 'cause you're The One
Yeah you're The One
Who knows how this song could turn out
It's hard to explain
Life is full of ups and downs
You can't get through it any other way
But it don't matter now
Well it don't matter now
No it don't matter now
'Cause you're The One
You're The One, you're The One, you're The One
You're The One, you're The One, you're The One
You're The One, you're The One, you're The One
You're The One
It's not easy to say, it's not easy to say
It's not easy to say, it's not easy to say
But it don't matter now
Well it don't matter now
No it don't matter now
'Cause you're The One
Well it don't matter now
No it don't matter now
No it don't matter now
'Cause you're The One
Yeah you're The One
You're The One, you're The One, you're The One
You're The One, you're The One, you're The One
You're The One, you're The One, you're The One
You're The One

Within

They take you into the room of destitution
Confused and exhausted you cannot resist them
They clutch you and kick you, oh they hold you so tight
The hero and hope you thought would save you
Is lost in the night
Like some restless dream
From which you cannot flee
Like somone paralysed who's mind needs to break free
So take what you want of me, consume what you can
Take what you need of me, but you cannot have what I am
Deep inside me; a vibrance, a burning flame
You can steal what you see, but you cannot have me
They take you out of your room and say there's things to be said
Hung a lock round your neck of control and consequence
They have you under lock and key now and those who hold the key:
Their minds are infernos, what will they do to me?
Oh their minds are infernos, nothing else can exist
Oh their minds are volcanos and the eruptions persist
So take what you want of me, consume what you can
Take what you need of me, but you cannot have what I am
My worn flesh is like an army that guards it's master
You can steal what you see, but you cannot have me
You can steal what you see, but you cannot have me
You can steal what you see, but you cannot have me

Break in The Clouds
05:14
|

When the morning comes,
She’ll discover what she seeks.
Surveying the horizon for happiness,
With a pool of tears beneath.
It’s not as if she’s selfish,
But her world just don’t seem quite right.
And she knows that life isn’t long enough,
To be spending time unsatisfied.
And so she prays:
“Lord I know I’m lucky in a lot of ways,
But I know, I’ve had my fair share of sand in my face”.
Don’t kick them when they’re down,
Coz they’re lost not found.
Needing a break in the clouds.
When the morning comes,
No he won’t give in.
Though ever corner that he turns seems to thrust darkness upon him.
The songs he used to sing,
Used to tell him to follow his heart.
But now the path that he treads to the promised land seems to push him further back.
And so he prays,
That one day he might see,
His dreams before him,
Become a reality.
Don’t kick them when they’re done,
Coz’ they’re lost not found,
Needing a break in the clouds.
When the morning comes,
They pray it will all go away.
The mists to ascend,
So they can concentrate,
On life itself.
A breathing space,
A saving grace,
A break in the clouds.
An illuminated path,
A candle held to your heart,
A new place to start.
They’re looking for a break in the clouds, in the clouds.
They’re looking for a break in the clouds, in the clouds.
So Lord I pray,
They’ll find an oasis on their barren plain,
To drown their fears,
To quench their hearts and minds again.
They won’t be kicked when they’re down,
They won’t be lost but found,
With a break in the clouds.
